Training Courses

Build a bike for the homeless

Since November 2009 have been running our “build a bike” course to St Mungo’s clients. An innovative work based training program for disadvantaged people.

In our first year we trained 60 people.

With the help of the instructors graduates leave the 4 week course with a completely overhauled bicycle.Students take the bicycle from being in an abandoned state to being a fully functioning machine ready to go. Students take the bicycles away with them as a vital means of transport. It is important for students to be able to have something to show for their achievement. They can show others what they have built.
